Description
Artefex Lead White Oil-Primed ACM Panel is a professional panel for oil painting with lead white oil priming on a two-sided aluminum composite panel consisting of two aluminum veneers laminated to both sides of a black polyethylene core. This panel is 3mm thick and is available in sizes from 5 x 7 to 16 x 20 inches.
What are Aluminum Composite Panels?
The panel is a lightweight but rigid and durable aluminum composite material (ACM)—two strong sheets of aluminum bonded to a solid polyethylene core. The panel is coated on one side with a white polyester finish, and a mill (polished aluminum) finish on the other side. This panel is 3mm thick and is available in sizes from 5 x 7 to 16 x 20 inches. This weather-resistant panel is ideal for a wide range of paint mediums, including these:
• Oil
• Oil-alkyd
• Oil-resin
Artefex Lead White Oil-Primed ACM Panels offer a superior support for painting compared to wood panels because ACM panels have a very low response to environmental changes, such as relative humidity (RH) and temperature.
Lead White Oil-Primed
Artefex Lead White Oil-Primed ACM Panels are primed with the combination of lead white and titanium white oil priming. The lead white provides the best resistance to the environment from changes in relative humidity (RH), and the titanium white has the greatest opacity and brightest white. This primer does not absorb water readily and is especially suitable for oil, oil-resin, and oil-alkyd paint. Oil priming requires a more complex process than acrylic (universal) priming and needs the utmost care and attention to produce a quality surface for painting. Two coats of oil priming are applied and then dried in an environment where the temperature and humidity are maintained at constant levels to achieve an optimal final result. This particular preparation brings out the brightness and tone of oil and alkyd colors. The brushstroke is both fluent and well-defined on this type of priming.
