Many misinformed artists use water to thin their acrylic paint, but using too much water can weaken the paint bond and cause long-term issues. New York Central® mediums support and maintain the structure of your paint while adding a gloss or matte effect. You can thin and extend your heavy body paints with acrylic medium. The more you add, the thinner and more transparent the paint will become. You can also use New York Central® Acrylic Medium as a collage adhesive or as a fixative for dry media.
