GOLDEN Open Acrylics are a slow-drying paint that enables painters to explore techniques traditionally reserved for oil paints. The slow-drying quality of Golden Open acrylic paint gives artists longer working time for easier blending and even subtractive techniques. There is a unique thinner and mediums for use with OPEN, but the paints are compatible with regular fast-drying acrylics and clean up with soap and water like regular acrylics.
Open Acrylic is formulated with an optimum balance of pigment load and 100% acrylic polymer dispersion to produce a paint with a uniquely relaxed set of working characteristics and a versatility that allows artists to explore a wider range of techniques such as portraiture and landscape painting that rely on softening, shading, glazing, and creating fine detail.
Increased working time of these colors expands their range to include more traditional techniques once only possible with oils
