Claessens Polyester #101 Double Universal Primed Very Fine Texture Roll, 82″ x 6 yd
Claessens Polyester is made with only the finest synthetic thread. Great care is taken to produce each roll. Quality control carefully inspects the canvas by hand for faults and removes any abnormally thick threads. Next, two layers of synthetic adhesive are applied. Each layer is dried on the canvas in a warm-air oven.
The canvas is coated twice with an acrylic based paint, troweled on expertly by hand with a large knife. Then the canvas is dried in their dry air oven, since the primer and coating are water based. This produces a perfectly cured, completely dry canvas. The Universal priming is designed to allow for 50% absorbency, making it suitable for all media types.
The finished canvases are then again carefully inspected one last time before they are placed on rolls and stocked in the warehouse. There, the rolls are put into boxes or tubes for shipping. These stringent, painstaking steps create an archival, exceptional polyester canvas worthy of your finest masterpiece!
