Sceptre Gold II is a range of high-quality brushes made from a mix of sable and synthetic fibers. Ideal for working with watercolors and fluid oil color, they are also suitable for use with acrylic, water-mixable oil, and alkyd fast-drying oil color. Sceptre Gold II is a perfect combination, giving a performance close to sable at a price close to synthetic. The Sable hair has excellent spring, while the high-quality synthetic filaments ensure the brushes are soft enough to work the color but with a strong snap to return to the original shape. The high proportion of sable in Sceptre Gold II gives the brushes the ability to create larger washes in one stroke than normal synthetic brushes; the hairs are tapered to a fine point, giving the brush control for detailed work.
