Description
Elite Professional Canvas Panels – Made from Wood and Plastic Bottles!
Artists have been enthusiastic recyclers for hundreds of years. The old masters painted over and reused canvases because they couldn’t afford to waste anything. Today, we can’t afford to ignore the 7 billion tons of plastic currently in our oceans and landfills. Painting on a recycled PET canvas panel allows you to create art while also cleaning up the planet.
Make the Planet More Beautiful, One Canvas Panel at a Time
Recycled PET thread is made by spinning pellets of recycled plastic at high speed. 100% of that plastic comes from single-use water bottles. Once woven into canvas, it is extremely durable and responds like cotton, but the material is completely archival and will not degrade over time. A medium-textured weave and triple-acrylic priming help provide the perfect painting surface.
Mimik Canvas Panels offer a rigid medium-textured surface perfect for use with oils and acrylics, as well as brittle paints like egg tempera, acrylic gouache, and casein. A warp-resistant, kiln-dried pine cradle supports the canvas-mounted birch panel.
One 16×20″ canvas contains approximately 5 recycled 16.9 oz plastic bottles.
Mimik is dedicated to creating innovative art materials that protect endangered animals and their habitats. Painting on a Mimik Recycled PET Canvas helps reduce the amount of discarded plastic in our landfills and oceans.
