Each of the three holes serves a unique sharpening function. The long hole sharpens the wood barrel and core of a pencil. You can choose the medium hole if you only want to sharpen the wood, or you can select the shortest hole to sharpen only the pencil’s lead. The (M+R) Mobius + Ruppert Magnesium Sharpener works well with colored pencils, graphite pencils, watercolor pencils, and pastel crayons with lead cores up to 8 mm. Each magnesium sharpener comes with specially hardened Mobius + Ruppert (M+R)quality blades that deliver clean, accurate sharpening!
