Description
Staybelite Ester resin is the glycerol ester of partially-hydrogenated, wood rosin. It is a pale, thermoplastic resin with excellent resistance to oxidation and discoloration. It is useful as a tackifying resin for adhesives. In general, it is useful where there is need for pale, nonoxidizing and color stable resin.
Benefits
Staybelite Ester is superior to wood rosin in that it has exceptionally pale color, is resistant to oxidation and discoloration, and has a wide solubility and compatibility range greater than ordinary non-hydrogenated rosin.
Applications
• Component in thermoplastic mixtures for polishing wax, sealing wax and encaustic wax.
• Used in the preparation of synthetic resins and metal resinates.
• Used in most applications where rosin is used.
