Schmincke has been producing its Horadam line of watercolors in Germany since 1881.Each color has its own independently optimized recipe made of the finest pigments, ONETZ (ox gall), and traditional binders. Schmincke uses only Kordofan Gum Arabic from the southern Sahara and discriminates between good and bad harvests of this natural resin as it chooses its raw materials. Horadam colors can be raised from a dried palette without developing globules. Colors that have dried on the palette can be awakened with a wet brush and reused an infinite number of times.
